Colli Ripani 2013 Rupe Nero
Rosso Piceno DOC
50% Sangiovese 50% Montepulciano
Rosso Piceno became the first DOC of the Ascoli Piceno province in 1968. The name of the wine, the province and the city, are derived from the pre-Roman peoples that settled here in ancient times- the Picenum.
The land itself is ideal for the cultivation of the Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes, which act as a symbol of tradition of great Italian wines and the farming culture. It’s in this area that we find the esteemed Marche Cattle, bred and raised with respect, prepared as a quality meat that pairs perfectly with Rosso Piceno wines.
"Our top selection of Sangiovese & Montepulciano grapes are chosen for vinification. We utilize a long maceration, delestage and soft pressing. The wine is deep ruby-red. It smells of red fruits and purple flowers, with a dry & savory palate. Its full body will go best with roasted or grilled meats".
